Today’s Inspiration

“Do what you love every day. It’s impossible to fail.”

This quote holds a lot of meaning for me, not because it sounds ideal, but because it reflects how my journey in production truly began.

Starting Young as a Freelancer in Thailand

After university, I stepped straight into freelance work. My degree was actually in hospitality, and at the time, I was living in Phuket. In many ways, hospitality is one of the most natural career paths there, so it made sense. What I didn’t realise then was how valuable that background would become.

My first clients were hotels and food and beverage brands. Because I understood hospitality operations, I knew what mattered visually. I knew what needed to be shown, what stories guests connected with, and how to capture the atmosphere authentically. That understanding became the foundation of my approach to production.

Learning by Creating Every Day

Around the same time, I was lucky to have a close childhood friend who shared the same love for videography. We spent our days filming everything. Our friends, our travels, our daily lives. We decided to challenge ourselves to vlog, edit, and post a video every day for 30 days.

Looking back, that challenge taught us more than any formal training. We learned time management, discipline, work ethic, and how to experiment creatively without fear. We learned how to think outside the box, adapt quickly, and keep creating even when motivation dropped.

That consistency became the starting point of our freelance careers.

From Freelance Work to Building a Production Agency

Those early experiences shaped how I see production today. What started as freelance projects eventually grew into something bigger. Over time, that growth became Fat Mango Studios, a production agency based in Bangkok, built on creativity, collaboration, and passion for the craft.

This quote still guides how I think about work and leadership. Doing what you love does not mean the journey is easy. It means the challenges are worth facing. It means staying curious, committed, and open to learning.

Building a Team with Passion at the Core

When hiring for Fat Mango Studios, I always look for passion and tenacity. Skills can be developed, but the drive to create and grow is harder to teach. That same energy I had when filming daily and figuring things out as I went is what I hope every team member feels here.

I know there is still a long way to go. Growth takes time, patience, and constant learning. But being able to build a production company while still doing what I love is something I never take for granted.
