FROM SURVIVAL TO GROWTH
It is hard to believe that ten years have passed. In the early days of Fat Mango Studios, the goal was simple. Survival. Making it to the next month mattered more than long-term planning. Like many creative production companies, the focus was on staying afloat.
Over time, that mindset began to shift. Today, the conversation is no longer just about surviving. It is about growth. Growth in scale, ambition, and the kind of projects we choose to take on. This does not mean we are already there. There is still a long road ahead. But recognising the transition from survival to building something more intentional has been one of the clearest changes.
For a creative production company, growth can take many forms. One of the most important is internal growth. This includes strengthening departments, refining workflows, and improving operational processes so teams can work efficiently and sustainably. It also means understanding how many people are needed in each department to produce the best output, not simply more output.
Growth is also about people. Strong company culture and internal bonds matter just as much as structure. Developing individual skill sets, motivating the team, and creating space for continuous learning ensures that the work improves year after year. In production, the work is always a reflection of the people behind it.
Beyond the studio, growth extends to sales and relationships. Building long-term partnerships rather than one-off projects allows the company to grow with stability. It is about developing trust with clients and working on larger projects that align more closely with who we are and what we believe in.
After ten years, the journey continues. Growth is not a destination. It is an ongoing process of learning, refining, and moving forward with intention.
