‘NEW BALANCE’ INSIGHTS
When New Balance approached us through Indochina, the project came with an interesting layer, the campaign was running across two markets: Australia and Bangkok.
Working within a regional framework meant one thing became very clear from the start:
Alignment is everything.
From a project management perspective, the biggest takeaway from this collaboration was the importance of strong, consistent communication. When multiple teams, locations, and expectations are involved, success depends on building a shared understanding, not just of the deliverables, but of the intent behind them.
Because the goal isn’t just to execute a brief.
It’s to create something that reflects what the client truly needs, and what the production team knows will work.
Communication that keeps the project moving
To make collaboration seamless, transparency was key.
The entire workflow was organised through ClickUp, allowing anyone on the team to:
track project progress
understand current priorities
access references and updates
step in when needed
This level of visibility meant the project didn’t depend on one person. If someone was unavailable, the team could easily take over without disrupting the timeline.
Because strong project management isn’t about control.
It’s about creating systems that make teamwork effortless.
Managing the moving parts
Production management often comes down to one core skill: multitasking with precision.
On this project, that meant coordinating multiple elements at once, schedules, logistics, approvals, and creative execution, while making sure every detail stayed aligned with the storyboard and campaign requirements.
When the structure is clear and the team is aligned, decision-making becomes faster and more confident.
And that confidence shows in the final result.
Trusting the team
One mindset made a big difference throughout the project:
“If my team’s got this, we’re good.”
When you trust the people you’re working with, the pressure shifts. Instead of constantly checking or worrying, you can focus on solving problems, supporting the process, and keeping the bigger picture on track.
That trust doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from working together, building systems, and knowing how each person operates.
Don’t forget to enjoy the process
With deadlines, coordination, and high expectations, production can easily become all about execution.
But one of the most important reminders from this project was simple:
Have fun with it.
Because when the team enjoys the process:
communication becomes easier
collaboration feels natural
challenges feel manageable
the energy on set stays positive
And when the energy is good, the work is usually better too.
The takeaway
This New Balance project reinforced three essentials of strong production management:
Clear, open communication
Systems that support teamwork and flexibility
A team you trust and enjoy working with
Because at the end of the day, every project is different.
But when the foundation is solid, the team is aligned, and the process works, you know you’re ready for whatever comes next.
