Nico : "The beginning stages of Fat Mango was during those moments of us enjoying the day, living every moment. We would always ask, what are we doing next?"

Golf : "We were always so hyped! There were always something, and we were always so hyped about nothing."

Golf Kritsada, the co-founder of Fat Mango Studios, is a self-taught videographer turned entrepreneur. He found his passion by living in the moment and capturing memories of his loved ones. Like many of us, he questioned; WHAT WILL WE DO AFTER UNIVERSITY?

Taking listeners back to the early 2000s, Golf and Nico share their experiences of growing up in Phuket. At the time, the southern island was far less developed than it is today. Their high school education exposed them only to traditional career paths—doctors, lawyers, engineers. Additionally, since Phuket’s economy relied heavily on tourism, hospitality was the default career choice for many.

Golf : "I remember in my high school, since we were in Phuket and it is a very touristy destination, a lot of our parents or friends had hotels or worked in hotels. That was the thing that we were automatically thinking, let's do hospitality. It was not what I wanted to do but I guess, let's do hotels."

With only six months of university left, the question of career paths became more pressing. At the same time, their love and passion for video creation continued to grow. Taking a leap of faith, the two decided to put all their efforts into building their company—and they never looked back.

Nico : "I remember when we first started out, we came back and told our parents. Everyone was taking a gap year, and we said no, let's not take a gap year. Let's try to make Fat Mango work for one year. If it doesn't work, we will go work in a hotel."
